Meals of Hope New England

Stephen Gillies, Lindsey Gillies, Jenny Day and Justin Coppolino

Lindsey Gillies is a schoolteacher in Chelmsford, MA while her husband, Stephen Gillies is an Event Planner in Westford MA.  Jenny Day and Justin Coppolino are both Mechanical Engineers working north of Boston. From a young age, Jenny and Lindsey have worked with youth organizations to support the homeless and food insecure in the Greater Boston area. Stephen and Justin both grew up working in the food industry with their families and look forward to continuing to feed people in their community. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, food insecurity has increased significantly in communities all over the country, and particularly in communities in their area.  Lindsey, Jenny, Stephen, and Justin are dedicated to working toward their goal of ending hunger and food insecurity in New England.  They all enjoy the community spirit and sense of giving back that permeates Meals of Hope meal packing events!

Meal Packing Events

Did you know there are people going hungry right in your own community? Did you also know that there’s a fun, interactive way to help them? Hosting a meal packing event is a great way to get involved in your community and have some fun while providing real help to people in need. These events are perfect for school groups, religious organizations, corporations, and any other group looking to increase their local profile while providing an important service to the community.

What Is Meals of Hope?

Meals of Hope is a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) that is committed to bringing people together to fight the hunger epidemic. Founded in 2007, Meals of Hope has packed over 80 million meals that have been donated to communities in need across the nation and around the world. By hosting meal packing events across the country, and operating 15 food pantries in Southwest Florida, Meals of Hope has a local and global reach. With over 30,000 volunteers and a staff of 18, Meals of Hope is only getting started in our efforts to end hunger once and for all. We hope you’ll join us!

Millions of people across the country are facing food insecurity right now. It doesn’t matter your zip code, the need for the services that Meals of Hope provides is overwhelming everywhere you look.

This is what makes Meals of Hope so special. Our meal packing events send meals directly to your community, or they can be sent to other places in dire need. If you’re ready to host a meal packing event, where you choose to help is up to you. We can only promise that you’re going to be making a big difference no matter where the meals are delivered.

We’re also a tremendous presence in Southwest Florida. Our mobile food pantries and afterschool programs serve communities in Southwest Florida, and we would love your support. If you’re ready to volunteer or become a sponsor, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Through Meals of Hope, you’re providing nutritious and much needed quality food to hungry families. Because we are AIB Certified, our food is held to The American Institute of Baking International’s stringent standards, which require organizations to use best practices for food handling and distribution. In fact, we were awarded the “Recognition of High Achievement” by AIB for scoring in the top 90% of all food facilities — and we look forward to continuing to make food safety a top priority!
