Medtronic and Meals of Hope Hold Meal Packing Marathon!

Medtronic and Meals of Hope Hold Meal Packing Marathon!

Team members at Medtronic meal packing marathon

Medtronic volunteers gave their time and passion to create over 100,000 meals

From June 2 through June 5, 2023, Medtronic in Boulder sponsored a meal packing marathon for their staff, with 34 shifts participating from late Thursday night through Monday evening. Medtronic holds a staff volunteer event annually, and Meals of Hope was so proud to facilitate it for them in 2023! The energy was amazing, and the teams succeeded in packing over 100,000 meals that were then donated to Community Food Share, the main food bank for Boulder County, Colorado. Well done team! We absolutely love working with companies that want to build a spirit of community service among their team members. Reach out today and find out how we make it possible!

Almost halfway there!

Almost halfway there!

Almost Halfway to our one million meal goal

In our first two months of Colorado operations, we are already half way to our goal of one million meals to be donated to our local food banks! By the end of June, we will have packed over 425,000 meals! We’ve held amazing events at Assumption of the Theotokos, Lakewood United Methodist Church, The Rustin and Tara Banks Foundation at the LDS Church in Louisville, and have two upcoming events, one at Medtronic in Boulder and one with Brown & Brown Insurance in Denver! Let’s not be afraid to dream big, Colorado – all of our meals go directly to food banks right here in Colorado. Together, we make a difference! Would you like to be like these amazing organizations who have already joined our family? Contact me today and I’ll show you what we can do – together!

The Butterfly Effect

The Butterfly Effect

Butterfly Effect

Let’s change the future together!

The Butterfly Effect – often we daydream about how we could travel into the past, but fear we would risk harming the present. What if the actions we take, here and now, to do good – could change the course of the future for good? In reality I understand it is impossible to know how our actions will change the future, but I have faith that if we do one small good thing today, if we ALL do one small good thing today, we can set good things in motion that will change the future – for good.  Feed one person, if that’s all you can do. Help one person. It matters!

Wherever Hunger Rises, So Can We

Wherever Hunger Rises, So Can We

I had the opportunity to tour the Food Bank of the Rockies in Denver today, ably guided by Food Rescue Program Manager Mark Weslar. It was an eye-opening experience to see the vast warehouse where they store and distribute food to those in need in the community.

The Food Bank of the Rockies provides food to people in need through signature programs and by teaming up with hundreds of Hunger Relief Partners to serve communities across Colorado and Wyoming, to my knowledge,  the largest food bank coverage area in the contiguous United States. They believe that for a community to thrive, every member must have the resources they need to flourish, and they strive to provide equitable access to proper nourishment for all..

During the tour, I learned about the various programs and initiatives the Food Bank of the Rockies has in place to help combat food insecurity in the community. They have a mobile pantry program that brings fresh produce and other groceries directly to communities that have limited access to food. They also have a Kids Cafe program, which provides free meals to children at after-school programs and summer camps.

One of the highlights of the tour was seeing the area where Meals of Hope will be donating meals from our packing events. Meals of Hope is a nonprofit organization that holds meal-packing events across the country to provide meals to those in need. We will be donating many of the meals we pack in the state of Colorado to the Food Bank of the Rockies, which will then be distributed by the food bank to local food pantries that are well connected to local neighborhoods.

It was inspiring to see how Meals of Hope and the Food Bank of the Rockies can work together to combat food insecurity and provide meals to those who need it most.

Overall, the tour at the Food Bank of the Rockies was a humbling experience that highlighted the urgency of addressing food insecurity in our communities. I loved seeing the incredible work that the organization is doing to make a difference in the lives of so many individuals and families. Their motto “Wherever hunger rises, so can we” will be something I am meditating on in the days to come.
