Out of School Meals

Ensuring No Child Goes Hungry

According to the USDA, there are over 9 million children who face food insecurity. Sadly, the issue of child hunger is both tragic and common – but that doesn’t mean we get to sit idly by. Meals of Hope is here to do something about it.

No one should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from, especially children. While many children have access to free breakfast and lunches during school hours, they are often left without a plan for dinner. This is where we come in. Our out of school meal program ensures that children do not go to bed hungry.

Feeding Children Outside the Cafeteria

For many children of families facing food insecurity, a free school breakfast or lunch may be the only hot meal they get all day. During the summer time and weekends, it is much harder to find food because they are not in school and don’t have access to the free school lunch children would rely on.

Knowing that there are children who depend on school meals for their only nourishment, Meals of Hope partners with other local organizations to feed children and families through the weekend and during the summer.
