Donald Grandmaison
VP of Operations
Donald “DJ” Grandmaison joined Meals of Hope as Vice President of Operations in May of 2024. In this role, he oversees the organization’s financial and operational functions, focusing on efficient meal production, distribution, and scalable growth to address hunger across Southwest Florida and surrounding areas. He also works to strengthen relationships with the team, partners, and the broader community.
Before coming to Meals of Hope, DJ had a strong background in agriculture and controlled environment agriculture (CEA), particularly in fully automated hydroponic greenhouse systems and sales/marketing. He served as Sales and Marketing Account Executive at Leaf Farms/Bright Farms in Loudon, New Hampshire, where he contributed to building the operation into a prominent producer of fresh, locally grown greens. His efforts included forging key business partnerships, driving revenue growth, developing innovative packaging, and supporting community efforts—such as donating produce to front-line workers during Covid.
A dedicated advocate for sustainable food systems (and a self-described “plant nerd”), DJ’s expertise in innovative farming naturally led him to Meals of Hope’s mission of providing direct nourishment to those in need. He brings degrees from the University of New Hampshire in Environmental Horticulture and Integrated Agriculture Management, along with deep experience in building resilient, collaborative operations.
DJ lives in Punta Gorda, Florida, with his wife and two sons. They appreciate the warm climate and Florida lifestyle—and the welcome absence of snow shoveling.
